Adavaci Passage and the Western Side of VanuabalavuBA
Adavaci Pussage provides access to the lagoon on the western side of Vanuabalavu but it requires a lengthy approach through the reefs and is not an easy route. There is a beacon on the southern side of the entrance and a course of 066° approx. on the south-eastern end of Yanucaloa provides a fair lead, but good visibility is essential. The opening over the lip is narrow and only carries about 8 metres of water.
Safe passage may be made down the western side of Vanuabalavu as far as the village at the back of l omaloma. known appropriately as Daku ni l omaloina.

From here il is about a mile by road to Lomaloma and this docs provide an alternative to the passage down the cast coast. The anchorage off the village is not ideal, but satisfactory for a short period. Sand flats back the reef, which extends about ■/i mile offshore.
